Captain Theresa, founder of Landings With A Flair, is an experienced flight instructor and a captain at a regional airline in the United States.
Before joining the airlines, Captain Theresa was the Chief Instructor and General Manager of a flight school where she established a Part 141 (FAA certified) flight program. The 141 program offered training for every pilot certificate level from Private Pilot to Multi-Engine Instructor.
Captain Theresa decided to become a pilot when she was eleven. She learned to fly at a four-year university, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in aviation. Most of her training was financed by scholarships. Because of her scholarships, she has been on a mission to “pay it forward” and especially to increase diversity in aviation.
In 2011, she was the Flight Instructor of the Year for the FAA Great Lakes Region (eight states), which made her one of the finalists for National Flight Instructor of the Year. She holds the ratings of ATP, CFI, CFII, MEI, AGI, IGI, and Gold Seal. She is also a glider pilot.
While she is no longer actively flight instructing, she can be found teaching ground school lessons and hosting conversations about flight training on the Internet platform Clubhouse. Recordings of those lessons and conversations are the basis of the podcast Landings With A Flair: Pilot Flight Training.
She is originally from Michigan, where she still resides.
